HR Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

  • Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes a competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Perform candidate and employee satisfaction evaluations and workshops

  • Suggest measures for improving employee retention

  • Determine HR and recruiting KPIs

  • Oversee payroll submissions and payments

  • Promote healthy relationships between staff and management through mediation and handling labor disputes

  • Responsible for collecting and analyzing employee data and maintaining accurate and complete employee records

  • Educate, train and supervise employees on the common HR topics including safe work environment, harassment, PTO, etc.

  • 5 years of experience as HR Manager/Generalist or similar HR role

  • In-depth knowledge of full-cycle recruiting and employer branding techniques

  • Familiarity with a variety of different selection methods (interviews, assignments, psychological test etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with posting jobs on social media and job boards

  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, SHRM, Sourcing and Recruitment Marketing tools

  • Ability to motivate employees

  • A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

  • Good time-management skills

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

  • BA/BS/MA in human resources, business administration or similar relevant field

  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources law.

  • Expertise in applicable applications such as Gmail, Microsoft Office

  • The position will be based out of Exhibitpro Headquarters in New Albany, OH

What does the average day look like?

  • The average day will include screening candidates for open positions, identifying areas of growth for key employees, processing payroll, keeping the handbook up to date, facilitating employee reviews, meetings with department managers to discuss personnel and process, and handling any disciplinary issues.
